After a 6-year program I graduated with honors and had my General Surgery Internship. After that I joined the Brazilian Army to work in the General Surgery Department. I stayed in the Army for 15 years and left on the rank of Major. Mean while I married and had three beautiful children. A door opened for me to come to the States for additional training in the field of Cardiology. During this period I decided to extend my education and I was accepted in the Internal Medicine Program at the Forest Park Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri, for a 3-year program. I completed my training in the summer of 2001 and I have been practicing medicine in St. Louis since my graduation.
Recently I have joined the Assisted Recovery Centers of America where we offer the most advanced management for drugs and alcohol treatment. We work as a team with the patients and respective families. It is very rewarding to see the results and the changes in people’s lives with the tools we can offer.
Her dedication paid off and she graduated Summa Cum Laude and was listed in the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Judy has worked extensively in geriatric nursing and sees her work with addiction recovery as an extension of her calling.
