About

The Assisted Recovery Centers of America (ARCA) was established in 2001 as the region’s premier center for behavioral health and substance use disorders. Since its early years, ARCA has worked closely with community partners to provide compassionate and innovative care to promote healing and thriving for individuals, families, and communities. We are a behavioral health organization providing a full continuum of integrated services to adult patients with substance use and other behavioral disorders.

Treatment Philosophy

Core Principles

Science-Based Approach

ARCA’s philosophy is grounded in evidence-based medical research, particularly in the use of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). This approach combines FDA-approved medications with behavioral therapies to treat substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders effectively.

Whole-Person Care

Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. ARCA emphasizes individualized treatment plans that address the biological, psychological, and social aspects of addiction and mental health. Each patient’s unique story, background, and needs are central to their care.

Outpatient Focus

ARCA’s programs are designed to support recovery within the patient’s natural environment. Outpatient care allows individuals to maintain their daily responsibilities while receiving structured, ongoing support.

Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Many individuals face both substance use and mental health challenges. ARCA provides concurrent treatment for co-occurring disorders, ensuring that both conditions are addressed simultaneously for better outcomes.

Trauma-Informed and Person-Centered Care

ARCA is committed to compassionate, respectful, and trauma-informed care. Treatment is delivered in a way that recognizes the impact of trauma and prioritizes safety, empowerment, and healing.

Key Components of ARCA’s MAT Program

Medical Stabilization

Initial treatment focuses on managing withdrawal symptoms and stabilizing the patient using medications such as Naltrexone (Vivitrol®), Buprenorphine, or Methadone, depending on the individual’s needs.

Ongoing Medication Management

Patients receive continuous monitoring and adjustment of their medication regimen to ensure effectiveness and minimize side effects.

Behavioral Health Counseling

Individual, group, and family therapy sessions are integrated into the treatment plan to address underlying psychological and emotional issues.

Community Integration and Support

ARCA actively engages with the local community and encourages patients to build support networks that promote long-term recovery.

Long-Term Commitment

Recovery is a journey. ARCA provides sustained support for as long as needed, helping patients transition through different stages of recovery with confidence and care.

Housing Philosophy

Many individuals seeking supportive recovery housing do so because they find themselves needing to remove themselves from their environments to make the changes they would like to see in their own life or because they currently are homeless.

The transitional living program is the crux of what make recovery successful. Individuals living in the housing program will be provided a healthy, supportive, and structured living environment that will be accompanied by Peer Support Specialists who come from a similar background with programming of the facility co-led by Executive Director and Lead Peer of the residency. Residents will live in a recovery community, attend treatment meetings, and participate in peer support groups for addiction and behavioral health issues.

The housing will be contingent upon receiving behavioral health and/or addiction services. All the residents living in the house will need to follow the guidelines designed for the Transitional Living Program and each resident is encouraged to find part time work, volunteer, or go to school for 20 hours a week. By encouraging our residents to do this, we are promoting independence, which is a key component of sobriety and recovery. As the residents gain independence, their self-image and self-efficacy will rise as well.
